Natural Hazards - Bay of Plenty

Natural Hazards Chapter of the Bay of Plenty Regional Policy Statement

Client: Bay of Plenty Regional Council

Worked with Bay of Plenty Regional Council to develop a Natural Hazards chapter for the Regional Policy Statement (following appeals lodged with the Environment Court on the notified chapter) that would take a generally risk-based approach to planning for natural hazards ensuring the low likelihood high impact hazards (like Tsunami) were not ignored in the risk assessment methodology. New provisions successfully overcame concerns of appellants.
